A really clever and well-made jigsaw puzzle in the form of a 9-inch diameter sphere. The 540 pieces, when finally correctly assembled, form a remarkably rigid spherical unit which ay be spun around its axis. The one we bought was a handsome and interesting historical montage, dating around 1676. (Other global forms including a modern World map are made by Ravensburger.). The individual pieces are durable plastic -- and are numbered serially to permit replacement. This also enables the puzzler to "cheat" a little to help resolve potential ambiguities, if necessary. Lots of fun!! (Caveat: once you have assembled the globe, you may wish ever to take it apart! Perhaps there exists some clear varnish that might be applied to strengthen the globe permanently.)
