Police Force Pursuit Review

My 5 yo son discovered the wonderful world of Lego's this week and was instantly hooked, he had a late Christmas present arrive over the weekend and instantly started adding different sets to his "Birthday wish list"! We took a drive today to a discount store for him to get another set to work on and we found the Mega Bloks Blox Squad sets, they were some pretty impressive looking sets that were well in my price range... and on sale. He really liked that it made three vehicles and the boat trailer!

He has been playing non-stop since we got home, with a brief stop for dinner. He's finished the trailer and is working on the boat as I type this. He has already told me that he prefers the Mega Blocks over his Legos because of the instructions, they are clearly labeled in steps {like Legos} but they go a step further and tell you how many pieces of each sized block you need to complete each step. He has Autism so I'm not surprised in the least that this appealed to him and that he noticed that detail within seconds of opening the instruction booklet!
*Just a side note: My son put this entire set together with only a little assistance from me, and that was when he started getting tired, so I would have him take a break. It is not a set they will put together in a short time... it's a large set. It took him three days working on and off. He was extremely proud of himself for being able to do it all by himself! I was proud of him for the patience that he showed and his ability to problem solve when he had made a mistake.

The pieces do not come separated by vehicle like the Lego sets tend to but I solved that by getting a couple of plastic containers and putting all of the tiny pieces in one container, medium sizes in another and the large pieces in another. He's had no problems quickly finding the pieces he needs to do each step. And I was happy to notice that the pieces are compatible with his Lego sets, so that was a nice bonus!

I would definitely recommend this for any child who likes these building sets, the quality appears to be as good as the Lego sets and the prices are much more reasonable! I will definitely be sticking with the Mega Blocks brand!

Its one of those things. Either you are into details or you are willing to settle for distorted figurine. This model is very detailed and solid in its form. It not an empty plastic mold. The paint is very durable. My one year old has gotten a taste of it on several ocaasions and took his teradactle teeth to it. Still in excellent shape!!

I had never heard of the "Ultimate Soldier Xtreme" line of scale military items until I saw a sellout ad from a dealer I buy from regularly. This Company made highly detailed military figures, airplanes and vehicles but are no longer in business and sold their stock to several online dealers. I am a big fan of WW11 "Warbirds" and the P-51 was one of the best. I have several 1/72 scale metal airplanes that all cost considerably more. This 1/48 plastic model is at least as highly detailed as anything else I own and it even comes with landing gear and cockpit variations. A truly eye catching reproduction.

Black & White Teen Girls Zebra Twin Comforter & Pillow Sham Review

My daughter was determined to have zebra print and purple bedroom decor. I saw several reviews for other sets (about $100) that said they were cheap and flimsy. This set had no reviews, but the price seemed reasonable, so I took my chances. Even though this set was only $59.99 -- I expected better quality for the price, considering this set only comes with the comforter and pillow sham. For that price, either you should get the whole bed in the bag complete with throw pillows or at least the quality should be excellent. We will have to buy her a comforter to go under this one because it is very light and flimsy. Also, this set came stuffed in what appears to be nothing more than a cheap garbage bag -- no labels, no tags. The upside is, my daughter is a pre-teen -- as this comforter set falls apart, so will her mood for it and we will be off on another decorating adventure. Buyer beware!
