SR-71 Spyplane Review

I bought the ICF Toys SR-71 about a year ago today and can safely say that this is the most durable inflatable toys I've ever owned. It can easily handle my 190 lbs jumping onto it in a swimming pool. Has been used multiple times as an air mattress by myself and others. Will handle wear and tear very well without undue delamination of seams and joints. Has had one minor pinhole leak after all the use and abuse in the left inlet spike. Not bad for a full year of service. Probably could give another five years of service. I would highly recommend this toy for anyone child or adult.

Product Description

One of the last projects in the long line of German ingenious "E-series" next generation tanks, the E-100 was planned to be the basis for a whole new line of super heavy armored vehicles. The Salamander was based on the E-100 chassis, and was developed to be the next generation tank destroyer. The main armament consists of a 170mm anti-tank gun capable of firing armor piercing projectiles up to four kilometers away. This plastic model kit is an accurate representation of the military vehicle.

Trumpeter 1/35 German Jagdpanzer E100 Super Heavy Tank Review

This is a great kit from Trumpeter depicting a "paper-panzer", a hypothetical replacement for the World War II German tank destroyers based on the Jagdpather and Jagdtiger. I enjoy German armored vehicles, especially the hypothetical vehicles that were being planned had World War II continued longer than it did.

WOW!!!!! This is a very LARGE tank destroyer. This kit IS 1/35 scale and is actually larger in length and height than any of the Jagdpanther tank destroyer kits. This E-100 tank destroyer would roughly be about the same size as any Jagdtiger tank destroyer kits and then this kit is even just a bit larger than that.

Anyway, building this kit was a lot of fun!!! Parts are crisply made, fit of parts is great, and this kit just about builds itself it is that well constructed. The main gun of this vehicle is 128mm (12.8cm) and just looks AWESOME as compared to the guns of other tank destroyers (Jagdpathers, Jagdtigers, Stug IIIs or IVs, Marders, etc).

Kit also comes with a generic decal sheet - just numbers and a few German crosses. Very good instruction sheet, easy to follow. Photo-etched parts for engine grills and a few other parts. Tracks shoes are the "vinyl" type and are just a bit too long for the kit, my only complaint for this kit. There are also EXTRA parts that come with this kit for most of this kit is based on the E-100 Main Battle Tank - this is the tank destroyer version.

I would recommend this kit for youger persons that have some experience in building model kits. This is a very rugged kit also, holds up to some abuse such as dropping onto floor.

Remember that this is a model kit and construction is required. Paint/glue not included and sold separately.

I ordered this kit through Amazon and eHobbies shipped it to me. Received kit roughly 5-7 calender days after ordering. Price is reasonable, have seen this kit priced a lot higher in hobby shops and other on-line sites.
