I'll start w/the value of this Air Hogs chopper. I've seen inconsistent pricing on this toy anywhere from $49.99-$150! Because It's usually found over $60 I don't think it's worth the money. For $100 you can get a very impressive coaxial hobby-grade chopper or a 4-channel high-performance one. Let me say this before I move on, the Blade MCX2 is much better than this model, so if you're spending $100 look into getting that one, it's higher quality and much more stable and literally better in every way. But this model I'm reviewing here does have a lot of good qualities, it's very stable in flight, it's a good way to learn to fly a 4-Channel non-coaxial helicopter. It's also very durable, it is a bit cheap looking from up close, and it feels very weak, but believe me this thing can survive crashes without a problem because it's light and doesn't generate too much force to damage itself. That being said it isn't that slow either, it can move around the room a bit and it can make quick looping turns and strafes nicely but don't let that scare you because the helix can hover in place as long as you want and you can move very slow if you need to. The remote is fairly responsive but it works much better indoors because it's infrared and outside sunlight can cause interference. It can still be flown on a completely windless day but the range and potential for consistent flight is very limited outdoors. Also, the remote is far better indoors because the IR signal bounces off walls and keeps in better contact with the chopper. One more note on the remote, it has a cord to charge the chopper's internal batteries, so no AC adapter, the remote itself does the charging draining its own batteries to a small degree. I would consider this a very safe toy, I don't see how anyone could possibly get hurt flying it, even a direct hit with the blades to someone's head won't hurt a bit. I would say the helix 360 is worth $60 at the most but no more.
