I gave 3 stars above for Amazon's excellent Customer Service and easygoing Return policy; my disappointment and frustration with the purchase was quite large and I will do the best I can here to be fair, as I am no longer just out the $$ on the transaction.

Mattel has done a far better job, overall, than I think anyone would have thought possible back when they first secured the licensing for theses cars from the Scuderia. If you have not yet purchased or seen one, the essentially come in three "flavors" at this 1:18 scale - Special (the lowest-priced, most common variety, which is what this item is); Elite (an upscale, more expensive and generally very satisfying trim level, even for Tifosi or for collectors like myself - and, despite the copy in the title of the item, what this Scaglietti most assuredly is *not*); and Super Elite, a compltely stunning presentation that may not be an Exoto but need not shy away from the CMC's of this world.

In practice, Super Elite or Elite = Adult Toy Intended For Display; Special (also sometimes called Mass) = Child's Toy Meant To Roll Away.

Both are certainly valid enough and whether you get one or another depends completely on your budget and intended use. However....this item *continues* to be listed as an Elite, which it isn't, and that's not just lazy, it's cheating. Both the listing vendor and Amazon need to do better than this - particularly since they cannot claim now not to have heard about it - and sadly the old maxim Caveat Emptor applies here until the listing is corrected. Mattel has done a very, very good job, as I said (Shelby Collectibles has, too, if we are talking about quality in this scale and price point). Amazon's Customer Service and Return system got my money back before the tracking on the package indicated it had made it back to Amazon's shipping docks in Las Vegas.

But to continue to list this erroneously is unacceptable. Be very clear on what it is you are getting before you click the "Order" button on this one, friends.
