This AWD (All Wheel Drive) Thunder XX red racing car is "Ready to Run" with 4-wheel drive power for super traction to climb steep hills and cover rough terrain. The full function gun-type controller features the advanced XQ multi-channel system that allows you to race your vehicle against up to five friends (up to 6 drivers total) without radio interference. It requires one 9V battery, which is not included. Use the steering wheel to go left or right; the trigger moves car forward or reverse.A powerful 4.8 Volt 600 MAH NiCD rechargeable battery pack and charger are included for use in the car, which measures about 10" long with about 2 ¾" rubber tires. A huge disappointment for my son. Has all the apparent speed and features of more expensive RC cars but can't even survive a speed bump. The first car we bought broke on its maiden voyage after a lowish speed collision with the curb. Its replacement lasted a few weeks longer before losing a wheel in a jump over a speed bump. Repair kits aren't available - broken means broken. Saving my pennies for a durable hobby-grade model.

UPDATE Christmas 2012: Finally got that hobby-grade model. Four times the price but an entirely different experience. Makes this toy look like utter garbage in comparison.
