Twiddle Muff Sports Review

Bought this for my 100 years old great grandmother in Taiwan. She liked to keep her hands warm in the muff and train her fingers with the attached parts. It was great and became a fashionable statement. After all, who could put together a multiple uses "hands warmer" like this one! My great grandmother has passed away since and now it was my grandmom who benefits from this.

Venom Sport Power 40C 2S 4000mAh 7.4 LiPO Battery ROAR Approved with UNI Plug Review

Pros:
Cheap
Decent Power
Lasts Average Length
Universal Connection
Lifetime Warranty

Cons:
None so far

This battery is exactly what you pay for. It's nothing special and nothing too overpowered but it's enough to have fun for about 20 to 30 minutes, depending on your electronics and driving habits. It's a solid battery with great quality and stays consistent through its runs. It does lack a bit of power to say it is truly race ready in major competitions but for local racing, it does it's job well. It does not last long enough to be a practice battery either, but its solid for at least two qualifiers (8 minute races). Overall, for the weekend racer, it is a good battery but a serious racer might want a bit higher power (c) rating and a person looking to bash for a long time may be looking more into a higher mAh battery but this is a decent balance between the two.

Product Description

Representing the Helic Republic, this gigantosaurus Zoid, Gojulas Giga, comes unassembled and ready to be customized for battle from start to finish. He has articulated arms, head, and tail and his weapons include a stinger in his thrashing tail, hardened claws, and a chomping jaw full of sharp teeth. Kids can remove his spine and equip this gigantosaurus with Republic Twin Supercannons or Twin Buster Cannons (sold separately) for extra power. Gojulas Giga has motorized walking action so kids can mobilize him for battle and he can attack in either of his dual modes--pursuit or battle. In addition, this Zoid has a loud electronic roar and an opening cockpit on his head with flashing lights. While the instruction booklet is fairly precise, Gojulas Giga comes with numerous tiny plastic pieces that are sometimes difficult to identify. Kids may require assistance from adults (who may also be a little stumped) to get this Zoid up and running. This action figure runs on two AA and two AAA batteries (not included). --Cristina Vaamonde

ZOIDS - GOUJULAS GIGA - Action Figure Model Kit w/ LIGHTS and SOUNDS Review

This zoid was suppsosed to be the last zoid released but as you can tell it wasnt. This zoid is pretty big, a little shorter then the original Gojulas. This zoid has light up eyes and sound effects (Not many zoids have both or those) as well as two different modes. In attack mode the Gojulas Giga almost stands straight up When the motor is on he walks while making a very lame stomping sound and his eyes glow green. Then theres pursue mode. In pursue mode the Gojulas Giga is in a horizantal position, which probably mean this is the "speed" mode. In this mode the eyes and the mouth will glow red. He also makes a roaring sound while his neck moves in a circular motion. This zoid really doesnt have any weapons except for the two blades at the end of the tail, tons of razor sharp teeth, spines and claws and also has some kind of weapon on the toungue. Some people might mistake the stabilizers on the ankles as some kind of weapon but they are not, they keep this zoid from falling over when it walks. You can also remove the spines above the shoulder and put on a piece that you can attach the buster eagle cannons or the CP-10 cannons which are almost the same things.

1/48 F-15C MSIP II "Special Edition" Review

I do commission built models for side income, and recently had an ex crew chief commission me to do an F-15C for him. Since I had never built a C model for commission, I did some research to find info on what kit would be my best option. I initially wanted to go with the Hasegawa kit, since it's considered the finest F-15C in 1:48 scale, however the initial reviews I read stated that the Has kit did not come with featherless engines, which was a big deal to me and the client. Looking around, I found this recent release from Academy and decided to take a shot at it. First and foremost, the kit is really well packaged, and sells itself well. The parts are all individually wrapped, and he plastic is tough and well detailed. I started looking through the build up, and noticed that it's a bit on the complex side, but that all depends on who you ask. I don't consider myself any professional build by any means, but I would not recommend this kit for someone who is relatively new to the hobby, or just wanting to start out.

One of my very first observations is that there's a LOT of extra parts that come in the box with this kit. Academy has a way of putting parts for different variants of an airplane that they release on one sprue, so for this kit, there was tons of weapons and parts for their F-15K kit, none of which I really needed. This is a good thing for those who like to collect extra parts for their spares boxes, but this can also be a nightmare when you're trying to look for a part, and you see three or four of them, and aren't sure which one you really need. In the end, I scrapped some of the weapons, and pilot figures, and threw about half of the sprues away still full intact. Onto the build itself....the cockpit itself is decently detailed, however the Bay 5, aft of the pilots seat is sparse at best. No boxes, or anything of that sort. You can scratch build some boxes to spice it up a bit, but I feel like they could have given a little more effort in that department from the get go. A few fit issues along the fuselage line up points, and some downright nasty gaps to fill and steps to sand along the intake installation and forward fuselage installation. The engine petals also had a pretty tough time wanting to mate together without any steps, which is a big downfall for me, because with that much detail on featherless engines, I don't like to take sandpaper to the areas. So I had to plug and fill as best I could with liquid cement just to try and fill the voids. I had decent success, but I can still notice them when I looked at it. Last, is the cheap engineering that they did on the vertical stableizers. Most kits that have individual tabs usually have a fitting well where the parts should tab into a groove, and seat very nicely, without any trouble. This kit DOES NOT have that. Sure, there's a little tab that fits into a little hole, but it just goes on there so clunky, and it's not even a very decent, tight fit. They just kind of fall in there, which, to me....means they may as well have not put anything on there at all. At least then you'd have a flat clean surface to mate the two together. I wound up using liquid cement, which melts the plastic to get a very tight join between two pieces, and after shipping the finished product off to the customer, what do you know...the right stab showed up very loose. There's nothing for it to seat well with. Burns my ass, but if you're not planning on shipping it, then again....it can be overcame. All in all, it's a good kit, and it can be made to look the part of a decent A/A Eagle, but it will require some patience and some sanding. I have since found out that new release kits of the Has C model DO have featherless burner cans, and if I'd have known that then, then I wouldn't have bought this kit, simply because I like to go with what's tried and true, especially when I'm building the final product for someone else. On a good note the decals in this kit are grade a even though I used aftermarket ones for my build.
